We know as moms we are all pretty much exhausted all the time. There are certainly things we can do to gain a little bit of that energy back...but before we can even take the necessary steps to do that we need to address a major challenge as it relates to our exhaustion.
Exhausted moms cannot rely on willpower!
You are here because you have health and fitness goals, you want to get control over you body, you want to feel stronger and more confident in your skin, you want more energy, and you want to stop merely surviving mom life and live it!
You can have the best intentions, a perfect nutrition program, some kick ass workouts planned...but the bottom line is when you are tired your willpower is depleted.
When you are exhausted, your willpower cannot be relied on, it cannot be trusted.
However, you can still take control over your goals if you are intentional about it with what’s called pre-commitment - taking the steps necessary to ensure that what you intend to do (or not do) still happens when you are exhausted and your willpower is depleted.
This does not mean you are just settling for being exhausted all the time. Creating healthy habits will give you more energy….but you need some tricks to get started.
3 Steps to help with Pre-Commitment:
Create a new default. Wherever your struggle is, put a system in place to deal with that.
Make it difficult to give in. Set yourself up to be in control so you aren’t continually beating yourself up for giving in.
Motivate your future self. Tell others of your goals and have them hold you accountable.
We cannot rely on willpower when we are exhausted but you can put systems in place to be successful in you health in fitness goals.
