My Facebook feed, like yours, is filled with amazing transformations. You know the ones that show amazing change “in just one week,” or “PM me and I’ll send you a free sample.”
I’m not going to lie, sometimes I think, “maybe I should try that, it looks easy.”
Then I remember my training, the science, and my experience and that little voice inside my head reminds me that’s not what I need.
Let me be that voice for you! *You can watch this blog here*
Quit the search for quick fixes and instant results. Not necessarily because they don’t work. I’m sure many of them do.
Quick fixes leave out the most important change that happens IN you.
Of course it is important to have an end goal and a strong why. That’s where it all begins, but the real transformation happens in the development of the daily habits, the routine.
It’s time to switch your focus from the before and afters!
Focus on creating the lifestyle.
Focus on your routine and habits.
Focus on getting stronger.
Focus on eating to fuel your body and provide energy.
Focus on developing habits to support your healthy lifestyle.
The aesthetics and weight loss will come in time and with that so many more important changes will happen in you!
It's all the work you put in on the way to reaching your goal that will transform you into a stronger version of yourself.
It's all of the little victories on the way that will transform you into a more confident version of yourself.
It's all the habits you develop along the way (while you are troubleshooting, problem solving, and learning how to make it work with your sometimes crazy life) that will transform you into a healthier version of yourself.
On that last point I want to tell you a little story about a conversation I had with one of my Body After Baby clients in one of our recent coaching sessions. Though she is having great success with the program, she was lamenting the fact that she feels she could have done so much better in the at a different time. She definitely had a rough month: 3 sick kiddos, Halloween and all the candy laying around, then some sad family news all leading into Thanksgiving week with lots of company…. and food.
I’m going to tell you what I told her…
I honestly believe that going through it this way is better for her.
Could she maybe have lost a few more pounds if she had an easier month? Probably.
However, I believe in learning how to create a lifestyle and life isn’t perfect.
Working through all the of the mess, you learn to develop strategies and routines that can sustain you in the long run.
Sometimes we get so focused on the physical transformation and obsessed with the end goal that week forget about all the everyday habits, struggles and successes that get us there!
It's forming of new habits, through the good and the bad, that is truly transformational.
There is no perfect time, no perfect plan, no perfect motivation just really messy life.
